Carlisle & District University of the Third Age


	Like most other U3As, we are a member of the Third Age Trust. To learn more about the U3A movement and how it operates click here


	We count our birthdays from 1995 and have been a registered charity since 1999.


	We draw our members from all over the Carlisle district, including its surrounding villages and small towns. Roughly, our catchment area lies within a 15 mile radius of Carlisle although we do have members of neighbouring U3As travelling from further afield to attend our very popular computer courses.

We currently have about 600 members and about 50 separate interest / activity groups.

Most of our activities take place during daytime and most of them are FREE to members

	We are a growing, dynamic and outward-looking organisation which encourages and enables our members to adopt a positive and creative approach to retirement.


	Please spend some time looking round our web site and at what we have to offer. If you are not yet a member you could find something interesting and stimulating that could tempt you into applying to become one!


	Currently there are more than 650 separate U3As across the UK catering for in excess of 187,000 individual members who find that membership of a U3A enriches their lives in their later years.
