What we do:
A variety of walks and rambles at a moderate pace. Distances can vary from 4 to 8 miles but there is never any rush, and plenty of time is taken for admiring the views, spotting wildlife or looking at a place of historical or other interest.
Walks vary from riverside / coastal to the lower fells - up to about 1000 feet, so a reasonable level of fitness is expected.
We always take a picnic lunch, but the shorter walks can sometimes finish near a suitable hostelry or cafe.
It is hoped that as many members of the group as possible will take a turn at leading a walk, which all helps to add variety to what we do.
