Date of Meeting

3rd Monday of the month

Time

10.00am

Venue

What we do: The Group’s principal aim is to enhance each member’s enjoyment of contemporary cinema by sharing it with others.

We endeavour to see two films each month, usually ones that have been recently released.

Consideration of the films seen then forms the basis of discussion-based monthly meetings. Occasionally a visiting speaker is invited to address meetings of the Group.

Such is the standard monthly meeting but, in addition, we have the occasional visiting speaker to the Group.

We normally have around 20 in our Group.

At the end of each year, in a more social setting, we nominate our OSCAR or BAFTA awards in our own ‘U3AFTAs’

The Group does not have a recognised teacher. There are no ‘experts’ but, through a relaxed group cohesion, individual members demonstrate particular insights and knowledge.

Learning is fun! Such is the standard monthly meeting but, in addition, we have the occasional visiting speaker to the group
