What we do: We usually read modern paperback fiction, but occasionally a ‘classic’ is included in what we read.

Each month one of the members chooses a book which all Group members then read and discuss.

Often the discussion will flow on to related topics, other books and films.

We have coffee and time for ‘free’ discussion.

Membership of the Group stands at 20 (14 women and 6 men) and it is felt that this is the optimum number for what we do. This means that at present we have a waiting list of about 4.

We try to be aware of readers’ magazines, both local and national and any writers’ talks or workshops.

Once a year we invite an author to come to talk to us and, in the past, have arranged a lunch to accompany this.

Absent members are informed of details of meetings missed.
